Welcome
The VAHI Data Request Hub is a simple way to request access to Victorian health data.
COVID-19 Response and impact on fulfilling data requests
Due to VAHI staff supporting the COVID-19 pandemic response, there will be delays in responding to some hospital and perinatal data requests.
VAHI will advise on our ability to fulfil requests but will be prioritise hospital and perinatal data requests that support health services and government in Victoria’s COVID-19 response.
Requests for mental health and alcohol and other drugs data, queries relating to existing VAHI reports, and requests for new reports will be undertaken by VAHI subject to resource availability.
How to make a request
Submitting a request through the Hub is easy. Click the ‘Request’ button above and fill out the required information. You will receive an immediate email confirmation, then a member of our team will be in touch.
All requests progress through the following stages:
- • Step 1 – Clarifying your requirements
- • Step 2 – Processing your request
- • Step 3 – Preparing your answer
If you create a Hub log in, you can use the ’Track’ button to access additional features including live progress updates, request history and direct communication with Hub staff.
You have the option to submit a request without creating a login. However, you will only be able to reach us by replying to our confirmation email.
Cost recovery
Please note that VAHI operates under a cost recovery model for the Data Request Hub, so the service can continue sustainably. Not all data requests are subject to cost under our cost recovery model. If your request is in scope for cost recovery, a member of the team will contact you to discuss it.
Before you start, please check that the data you need is not already publicly available on the following websites:
